Hoover High School held a NBA 2k video game tournament on March 30, 2016. Fourteen students went to battle for school bragging rights. Eleventh grader, Nick Crawford, a great competitor rose as the champion after four straight wins. Congratulations to Hoover High School’s Courtney Henderson on being named The Des Moines Register 2016 boys’ basketball coach of the year! Henderson and the Huskies went 12-0 in the CIML Metro conference, and qualified for their third state tournament appearance during his seven seasons as coach. Congratulations to Hoover Drama’s Emma Burriola and Alex Colby for being selected to perform at the IHSSA All-State Festival on Monday, April 4th at the University of Northern Iowa.  Emma was selected for her acting performance and Alex will be performing his storytelling piece.  The All-State festival celebrates the top performers in the state.

Congratulations to the Hoover High School boys basketball team on returning to the state championship! With a record of 21-2, the Huskies are the number 3 seed and will face Iowa City West next Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
