Hoover STEM attended the 7th Annual STEM Day at the Capitol

On February 18, the STEM Council filled the Capitol Rotunda with hundreds of STEM programs and partners from across the state to educate and show state legislators what Iowa STEM looks like in today’s classrooms, museums, afterschool clubs and more. In attendance was a representative group from the Hoover STEM program. Hoover was chosen to demonstrate how they have used the  grant awards from the RLE grant award (Re-designed Learning Environments) and the STEM BEST award (Business Engaging Students and Teachers). Students were able to share what they do in the STEM Academy with Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property Michelle Lee, State Representatives Rick Olson, Ruth Ann Gaines, Ako Abdul-Samad, Marti Anderson and State Senator Janet Petersen.
