Hoover Publication Awards

Congratulations to Hoover Publications for bringing home five awards in the Iowa High School Press Association Spring Journalism Students.

2023 graduate Jaysson Reyes received a first place for his feature story on mental health and men. He also received an honorable mention for this story too.

Sophomore Zoey Schmit received first place in her photo story of the fall play The One Act Play that Goes Wrong.

Exchange student Filip Brandyk and junior Javier Flores also received honorable mentions for their feature stories.

Also, congratulations to four Hoover Publication seniors on being named Iowa High School Press Association Scholars – Thoi Te, Kirah Mayhew, Haley Morris and Jaycie Johnson. This is an academic honor for Iowa’s top journalism students.
