Distribution of Technology & School Supplies
School starts on Tuesday, September 8th and though it may look different this year, we are super excited to welcome you to Hoover in a whole new way! See below for some important information on technology, school supplies and more, and click here to read more about student protocols and expectations so that you are prepared for a great year ahead!
TECHNOLOGY UPDATES :
- All students who still have a computer from the spring will need to keep that computer for the upcoming year.
- All students who did not receive a computer this past spring OR may have turned theirs back in will be assigned a district computer.
- All families who need internet will need to sign up with Mediacom Connect2Compete @ https://mediacomc2c.com/
- If you still have a hotspot from last year, they have been turned off and need to be returned to the building. They $75 for each. You can turn in your hotspot to the Hoover main office or bring it during distribution days on Sept. 3 & 4th.
- If you need help with your technology, please call the DMPS Family Call Center @ (515)242-8221 from 7 AM – 7 PM
DISTRIBUTION DAYS AND TIMES:
- Distribution Days will be Thursday, Sept. 3 from 9am – 6pm and Friday, Sept. 4 from 10am – 3pm.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES
- School supplies will include items such as paper, pencils, folders, and whiteboards, along with other items needed for general classes. Materials needed for some content area classes will also be provided at tables manned by your Hoover teachers. Review your course schedule via Infinite Campus prior to arrival to help expedite the process. For school supplies, we will be located in the North / Student Parking lot (weather permitting). Please enter from the west end of the driveway (closest to the football field) and exit from the east end of the driveway. (See attached map)
TECHNOLOGY
- Students needing technology will go to the parking lot off of 47th street behind Hoover/Meredith. Please enter from the north driveway and exit on the south drive. (see attached map) Please bring a piece of paper with your students name and student ID number to help expedite this process.One you obtain the student computer, you MUST log in using district internet, which can be done from any DMPS school parking lot. Please have the appropriate username and password information readily available.
SCHOOL TOURS
- Tours will be available for incoming freshman and new to Hoover students during the distribution days, two tours per hour. RSVP HERE to reserve your spot! If you are touring the building, please park in the North / Student parking lot and enter the building using the main building doors. Face masks will be required.
PARENT INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS
- We will be providing informational meeting for parents. Informational meetings will take place during distribution days in the Hoover student center every other hour. Please call (515)242-7300 to reserve a spot! Spaces are limited for social distancing purposes. Face masks will be required.
