Hoover’s 9 Lap Challenge

The Hoover High school football team returned to their field in a different way on Saturday, as the sponsors of the 9 Lap Challenge to speak out against racial injustice and inequality. Coaches and players were joined by teachers, staff, students and neighbors in a 9-lap walk around the track, representing the final 9 minutes of the life of George Floyd, whose death at the hands of police has been the catalyst for nationwide protests and rallies.
