HOOVER ACDEC ADVANCES TO STATE!

Hoover’s Academic Decathlon team has been invited to the State AcDec competition in Cedar Rapids next month.  Our team placed in the top 12 large school teams from across the state.  Team members will compete in the areas of economics, math, social studies, language & literature, science, art, and music.  Additionally, each will perform a speech, engage in an interview and write an essay. 

At the regional competition, Colby Williams and Max Tensen both earned a second place finish for their superb interviewing skills.

Hoover’s team members include:  Sylvia Nguyen, Pryce Johnson, Colby Williams, Nick Lockin, Mai Dang, Max Tensen, Kayla Dang, JonTeria Brown and Stephanie Martinez-Melo.  The team is coached by Eric Hall.
