BIOLOGY & AP US HISTORY DISCOVERY DAY
On February 23rd and 24th, Hoover’s Biology and AP US History classes visited the Science Center of Iowa. During their visit, students explored SCIowa’s current traveling exhibition – RACE: Are We So Different? This unique experience investigates race and human variation using three primary themes: the history of the idea of race, the science of human variation and the contemporary experience of race and racism in the United States. Students made connections between their coursework in both biology and history and the RACE exhibit. They also explored other areas of the Science Center that supported their classroom learning.
