Teachers Take Action
Hoover and Meredith teachers kicked off the school year in action! As part of H-M’s International Baccalaureate candidate school partnership, teachers participated in an afternoon of team-building meant to further build collegiality between middle and high school staffs. The schools partnered with 13 community organizations on projects that ranged from preparing a meal for the Young Women’s Resource Center to sorting and delivering schools supplies to students. All teachers, administrators and support staff participated in the event. Each action experience was connected to an organization or project that serves Hoover and Meredith students. The International Baccalaureate program model advocates for thoughtful action as an extension of learning. To that end, team building through this practical action experience was a meaningful way to welcome teachers back and kick off the school year.
