Hoover Teacher Honored

For the third time in five years, Hoover publications adviser Timm Pilcher was honored as one of Des Moines Public Schools teachers recognized as an outstanding student mentor and inspiration at the Iowa High School Athletic Association Governor Scholarship Recognition Program, April 28, at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. The program, co-sponsored by the Iowa Farm Bureau, selects over 400 scholars from around the state, who then nominate the teacher who inspired them. Presented by Gov. Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Gov. Kim Reynolds, Pilcher was nominated by senior Patricia Mendez, and received the honor prior in 2009 and 2011.
