Hoover Becomes a Nationally Certified PLTW School

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a national pre-engineering program associated with several Universities across the nation. In Iowa, PLTW is associated with the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. At Hoover we currently offer two PLTW courses Introduction to Engineering Design (IED) and Principles of Engineering (POE). Both classes incorporate activity-based STEM curriculum.  This means students learn science, technology, engineering and math through rigorous hands on activity based curriculum. Hoover recently became a nationally certified PLTW school.  This will allow Hoover to continue offering these wonderful classes and possibly add additional PLTW classes in the future. We are very excited to offer students the opportunity to incorporate PLTW courses into their education here at Hoover High School.
