Student Ferdinand Alobo Thanks Teachers


Ferdinand Alobo has come a long way from his home country to Des Moines, Iowa. As many of our refugee students can attest, the road isn’t always smooth. This week, Ferdinand was profiled by Des Moines Register Metro Columnist Daniel Finney, and he took the opportunity to talk about how teachers made a difference in his life. Hoover Students Mark Universal Children’s Day


Hoover students put on their school colors Tuesday and visited three Des Moines elementary schools in honor of Universal Children’s Day. The day was established by the United Nations in 1954 to promote international togetherness and improve children’s welfare. Our Huskies shared art, dance and literature with students at Findley, Cowles and Moore. Click on the headline to read and see more.

Hoover Drama Presents: Cinderella


Hoover Drama presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella this November 9, 10, and 11th at 7pm. The most recent adaptation of the classic tale turns the story on it’s head and encourages today’s princesses to take their fate into their own hands. Hoover Named Iowa STEM BEST Partner


Hoover has been named a STEM BEST Partner by the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council. The awards support school partnerships in technology and bio science to manufacturing and finance.
