Course:  Nutrition & Food Prep I

In the Kitchen Systems, adaptation, purpose Scientific and technical innovation People have learned and adapted over the years to being mindful of sanitation and safety in the kitchen to prevent food borne illness, disease, and injuries.
Protein Sources Culture, resources Personal and cultural expression It’s important to know what sources of protein are available (to various cultures) when cooking, and how selecting appropriate proteins can affect the outcome of a recipe.
Veggies Culture, perspective, resources Personal and cultural expression People’s use of available resources (vegetables, spices) can help us better gain perspective on a culture’s beliefs and traditions.
Holiday Traditions Creativity, collaboration, resources Identities and relationships Baking offers cultures the opportunity to be creative and utilize local resources (ingredients, utensils) in order to create consistent and precise baked goods – some of which are part of family/cultural traditions.
