Hoover’s Siffin is Region 1 Football Coach of the Year

The Hoover Huskies head football coach Will Siffin has been named the Class 4A Region 1 Coach of the Year by the Iowa Football Coaches Association.

Coach Siffin just completed his fourth season as the head football coach for the Huskies, where he also serves as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach. He played college football for Wayne State University and arena football with the Sioux City Bandits. He has more than a decade of coaching experience in Michigan, Texas and now Iowa.

The Hoover Huskies were 5-4 during the 2014 season, and qualified for the playoffs. Four team members earned All-State recognition this season:

  • Brock Larson
  • Nathan Roby
  • Colton Preston
  • Dominic Marschel

In addition, the Huskies broke several CIML records this past season:

  • Dominic Marschel had 18 receiving TDs in a single season
  • Brock Larsen had 7 TD passes in a single game (vs. Sioux City West)
  • Brock Larsen had 65 passing attempts in a single game (vs. Ankeny Centennial)
  • The Huskies team had 31 first downs in a single game (vs. DM Lincoln)
  • Dominic Marschel twice tied the individual TD receptions in a single game with 4 (vs. Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln and Sioux City West)
