ACE Mentoring Program

The ACE program is an after school mentor program for students interested in Architecture, Construction or Engineering.  Groups of 15-25 students from local high schools met with 8-12 mentors on a weekly basis beginning in November through early March.  Students participated in construction site visits, project site visits, office/plant tours and complete a design project to conclude the year with a presentation to parents, mentors, and teachers.  Scholarships are also presented at this ceremony.

The project this year was an expansion of the West Des Moines Library.  The teams had a list of design constraints and a budget of 3.4 million to work with.  Each team developed a set of plans for the Library expansion and presented them at the ceremony.
