Students Visit Nationwide Insurance

Students at Hoover High School had the opportunity to take part in the Street Law Diversity Pipeline Program for Corporate Legal Departments as a way of learning more about the law and its place in society today. Associates from Nationwide Insurance volunteered to provide interactive class room presentations about legal issues in insurance, including legal contracts, insurance liability and distracted driving.  Later, students were invited to Nationwide’s office to work along side associates and participate in training workshops designed to provide hands-on learning experiences in contract negotiation, civil mock trials and legislative advocacy on issues including distracted driving.  The program allowed Nationwide associates to provide students with insight about the various corporate career opportunities in the legal profession. The students learned more about insurance law and the legal profession from Nationwide associate than a class or textbook could ever offer.  Years from now, one of Hoover High School’s future lawyers will remember the Nationwide Insurance experience and see it as a turning point in their life.
