Real World Design Team Presents Final Project

On Saturday January 26th Hoover’s Real World design team will be presenting their final project in the state competition at the science center. The Real World Design Challenge is a state and national competition where the aerospace industry poses a problem and high school teams are asked to use the principals of engineering to solve the problem. This year’s challenge was to design and unmanned aircraft that could perform search and rescue missions.

This year’s team consists of Tomas Read, Matt Murr, Dylian Mangano, and Marissa Van Elsen. They used industry software, mentors from the community, Iowa State University and individuals from all over the united states to come up with their final project. If the students do well at the state competition they will have the opportunity to present their project to a blue ribbon panel of engineers in Washington D.C.
