Hoover Students Attend Borlaug Medallion Ceremony

On December 7th, several Hoover students had the honor of attending the World Food Prize Borlaug Medallion award ceremony.  U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack received the Norman E. Borlaug Medallion from the World Food Prize Foundation President Kenneth Quinn. Quinn said the award was to “honor the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its extraordinary development and promotion of American farming for over 150 years. At the ceremony, Vilsack and Quinn also signed a pact that extends the Wallace-Carver Fellowship program through 2021. The students who attended the ceremony have participated in writing a World Food Prize essay and attended the Iowa Youth Institute at ISU last spring.
