Please join us to celebrate the language and cultural learning of the DMPS World Languages Program.  The festival will be held this Saturday, April 30, from 11am to 1pm in the Hoover-Meredith TLC (library).  Hands-on demonstrations and other displays will be available for families to enjoy during this unique event.


April 21st, 2016

Hoover High School presents F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic “The Great Gatsby.” Performances are Thursday, April 21, Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23 at 7:00 PM in the school’s Denis Hildreth Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and $3 for those with student activity passes.

Scientific Research students presented at the 13th annual Drake University Conference on Undergraduate Research in the Sciences (DUCURS), hosted by the Drake Undergraduate Science Collaborative Institute (DUSCI) on Thursday, April 14th. Hoover High School students Morgan Meyer, Hannah Prideaux, Heath Neal and Joseph Lynch have been asked to play on stage with the traveling Beatles musical, “In My Life – A Musical Theatre Tribute to the Beatles” for their performance at the Stephen Sondheim Center for Performing Arts on May 25. ACT Day: it’s an annual tradition at Des Moines Public Schools as the day when hundreds of high school juniors take – free of charge – the ACT college entrance exam. This year that day falls on Tuesday, April 19. DMPS was the first school district in Iowa to offer the ACT to all juniors. A reminder that there are no classes on April 19 for students in grades 9, 10 and 12. Click on the headline for more.
