Students Travel to Costa Rica

The best education you will ever get is traveling. Nothing teaches you more than exploring the world and accumulating experiences. Over spring break, Hoover teacher, Fabian Ruiz Angeles, had the opportunity of traveling to Costa Rica with a group of students. For some of them, it was the first time traveling outside of United States and going to a Spanish speaking country. Mr. Ruiz Angeles has personally had the experience of being in 20 different countries and he wants his students to have the same experience and start exploring the world. On this trip they had the opportunity of traveling with other students from Canada, a total of 40 people, for 8 days. They visited Volcano Poas, a coffee plantation, Baldi hot springs, la Fortuna Waterfall as well as did kayaking, zip lining in the forest and a jungle crocodile safari.  An unforgettable experience for everyone was visiting a local elementary school where students performed local dances and invited our group to dance with them. Our students donated school supplies and spent time with them, practicing their Spanish and helping local kids practice their English. For everyone it was a unique experience. Mr. Ruiz Angeles would  to thank his students for making this trip possible and he hopes this trip is one of many. Thank you Samuel Buckton, Diana Urbina, Breazi Preston, Marissa Van Elsen and Magaly Quintana. With this experience we are sure to have global citizens that will have a different perspective of the world.
