Hoover Student Council members visited students at Monroe Elementary on November 21st . They read to the students and assisted them with math rotations. They started to make relationships with many of the students and are planning on returning sometime in the near future.

One hundred and seventy-three students who take Advanced Placement classes at DMPS earned AP honors from the College Board, the second most ever recorded by the school district, including eight who attend Hoover High School. Hoover is one of the first four recipients in the state of a new $50,000 grant award by the Governor’s STEM Advisory Council in support of advancing education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Congratulations Hoover! Friday night’s 31-15 win over Ottumwa puts the Huskies in the Class 4A football playoffs for the first time in 19 years. Hoover faces Waukee on Wednesday. Game time is 7:00 PM.
